251. Title & Author: Bloodline (A Repairman Jack Novel Book 11) by F. Paul Wilson (384 pages)
Genre: Fiction—Thriller & Science Fiction
Completed: 7 March 2013

Summary & Review:
Still reeling from the death of his unborn child, Repairman Jack is searching for a way to overcome the grief and pain that have plagued him since the terrible hit and run that caused the tragedy. At the urging of his girlfriend Gia, Jack accepts a fix-it job from a woman concerned about her daughter’s new, a much older, boyfriend. As Jack looks into the pasts of his client, her daughter, and the boyfriend, he realizes that the Otherness has been using agents to concentrate oDNA (other-DNA) in a single child to bring about a terrible showdown between the Ally and Other.

At this point, it is getting pretty hard to summarize the plots of these novels in short paragraphs. Every book in the Repairman Jack series has been seriously building upon the previous books in the series and the information presented in them. So at book number eleven, there is a lot of things that if someone hasn’t read the previous ten books are hard to explain. Ally? Other? Rasalom? Compendium of Srem?!

That continual building-up of the story is one of the great things about this series. Wilson has been doing a great job tightening the tension between the Ally and Other and setting up how big this conflict really is. Additionally, each entry in the series clarifies and expands Jack’s role in all this and that really elevates this series and character above a normal thriller. While this wasn’t my favorite individual entry in the series, it was still great and added to the ever expanding conflict that serves as the backbone of the series.
