36. Title & Author: Dead Watch by John Sandford (406 pages)*Genre: Fiction--Political Thriller
Completed: 22 May 2008
Summary & Review:
After a former Republican senator goes missing for a couple days, Jake Winter, a special "researcher" for the White House, is called in to investigate the possible involvement of the governor of Virginia. Soon, Jake finds out that the scandal involves more than just a disappearance, but a plot to cover up embezzlement by the Vice President.
Overall, the book was pretty good. Nothing really stood out about Sandford's writing style though. It read like several other of the "thrillers" on this list. I think the biggest downfall was the main character, Winter. I wasn't a fan. But, like I said, overall it was pretty good.
