578. Title & Author: Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty (467 pages)

Genre: Fiction–Chick Lit

Completed: 29 August 2024

Summary & Review:

Beloved wife and mother Joy Delaney goes missing without a trace. As the investigation into her disappearance progresses, her seemingly perfect life begins to show signs that all may not be as idyllic as everyone thought from the outside.

This was not a good book. It was overwrought and overly dramatic. It’s one of those books that pretends like every suburban family is actually a miserable, dysfunctional mess or that every man is just waiting to physically abuse his wife. What a bunch of bull. This is what a woman with no real problems writes about to try and make her life seem more Serious and Consequential.

Not only that, but the resolution of the plot was the dumbest thing. Unbelievably dumb and pointless.

Oh, and the end of the book took place during the 2020 wuflu scam which just ticked me off.
