577. Title & Author: Party Members by Arthur Meursault (286 pages)
Genre: Fiction–Novel
Completed: 20 July 2024
Summary & Review:
Tired of being a struggling, low-level bureaucrat in the Party, Yang Wei is desperate for a change. Following the advice of an unlikely mentor, Yang Wei begins to elevate his station through any means necessary.
This was one of the strangest books I’ve ever read. I enjoyed the insight into modern China, but most of the book was pretty revolting.
