Summary & Review:
Growing up as nothing more than a young orphan, forced to live with his spiteful aunt, uncle, and cousin, Harry Potter receives an invitation to study at the world’s preeminent school of witchcraft and wizardry, Hogwarts. Shocked and delighted to learn that he is in fact a wizard, Harry enters his new magical world eager to discover what he has been missing. Among the wonders of his new life, Harry learns that he is famous because he is the only person to ever survive an attempted deadly attack by the once powerful dark wizard, Voldemort. As Harry soon finds out after entering Hogwarts, Voldemort may have failed his first attempt at murdering Harry, but he is anxious to try again and regain the life and power he lost.
It was really fun reading this beautiful illustrated edition to my kids before bed. Jim Kay’s illustration style was really fun and helped bring the story to life for Fox and Jane.
