Genre: Fiction--Historical Fiction
Completed: 24 January 2021
Summary & Review:
On the Dutch coast in the waning days of World War II, Dr. Graf, a German rocket scientist, oversees the launch of Germany’s vengeance weapon, the ballistic V2 missiles. Across the channel, Section Officer Caton-Walsh, a young British WAAF officer, attempts to unravel the mystery behind where these launches take place and how to stop them.
I’ve enjoyed many of Robert Harris’ novels over the years, and while this one was far from his best, it was still a pleasant read. With such fascinating subject matter, I wish Harris had done more with the plotting. Unfortunately, the story didn’t really go anywhere and there was no true climax or suspense.
