459. Title & Author: Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty (453 pages)
Genre: Fiction—Novel
Completed: 12 February 2019

Summary & Review:
A group of people—a young married couple, a family of three, several individuals—all seek healing and change at an upscale health spa out in the Australian bush. What starts as a standard smoothies-and-massages-filled retreat soon morphs into something far more sinister.

Moriarty has written some very entertaining books (see Big Little Lies (#319)), and some others that were fairly mediocre (see Truly Madly Guilty (#414)). This book falls somewhere in between. As always, Moriarty has a very readable style and does a good job getting the reader to be interested in her characters, but the plot just went a little off the rails near the end. To me, it became a bit outlandish and didn’t really feel believable.
