45. Title & Author: The Blue Zone by Andrew Gross (392 pages)*
Genre: Fiction--Thriller
Completed: 19 July 2008

Summary & Review:
Kate Rabb, a young post-graduate student, has an ideal life until her father's past catches up to all of them--the family is placed in the Witness Protection Program because her father was forced to rat out prominent Columbian drug runners. Soon, her father goes missing from the program but a sting of brutal murders follows where his trail goes. As her life crumbles into a pile of lies, Kate searches for whom she can really trust, and the truth.

This author has co-written several books with James Patterson, who I am not the biggest fan of, and he has picked up a few of his tricks, i.e. having super-short chapters that end on every page. Oh well. Anyway, it was a pretty interesting story, but I didn't really like the heroine, Kate. Also, Gross' writing style seemed a little green (as in not fully developed, not green as in environmentally friendly).
