4. Title & Author: True Believer by Nicholas Sparks (434 pages)
Genre: Fiction--Romance
Completed: 26 May 2007

Summary & Review:
Jeremy Marsh, an investigative journalist, travels to Boone Creek, North Carolina, to investigate mysterious lights in a cemetery there. He goes to this small town merely to debunk the ghost idea and further his career, but ends up falling in love with a local girl, Lexie. For their relationship to blossom, Jeremy must decide to leave his New York City life and move to the small Southern town.

The beginning of the book, i.e. the part with less romance, grabbed my attention, but eventually it got to the point that the only reason I finished the book was to finish the book. The writing was fine but the love story was a little cliche, full of phrases like, "he wanted to hold her in his arms forever," and, "they wished this moment would never end." Here's a funny quote though,"When, I get through with you, you won't even be able to work security at Wal-Mart! Do you hear me, Barney! Wal-Mart!" (335)
