Summary & Review:
Growing up the bastard son of the ruler of the planet Tao, Edmon struggles for freedom and independence. No matter what he does, however, his father ensnares him in his plans. Despite imprisonment in a labor camp, a forced marriage, the murder of his mother, and the death of his brother, Edmon still resists his father and tries to forge his own path.
I’m actually surprised I finished this book. It was a long 438 pages. When I first picked it up and started to read, I enjoyed it fairly well. Then, as I reached about a quarter of the way in, I really lost interest. The story was just too scattered and the tone too inconsistent.
