57. Title & Author: Justice Denied by J.A. Jance (435 pages)*
Genre: Fiction--Suspense & Mystery
Completed: 29 September 2008
Summary & Review:
Dectective J.P. Beaumont and his partner/girlfriend Mel Soames both undertake seemingly unrelated cases. Soon, as more cases are added to their growing workload they find that they are all intertwined: somone is taking justice into their own hands and killing convicted sex offenders.
I liked this book okay. It was a good book to read and relax with to get your mind off of the stresses of life. J.P. Beaumont was a pretty enjoyable character and Jance's writing style was pretty enjoyable too. The only thing I didn't like was that during the beginning and middle sections of the book, there were tons of storylines and cases to follow. Even though they all eventually came together, I think Jance gave too much attention to too many of them. Perhaps it would have flowed more easily had just two, or even three, of the cases been the main focus and the others were just mentioned as needed.
